As an operator of over 40 kilometers of Nordic trails we have a need for reliable and effective Nordic grooming equipment. Initially we used UTV style machines on tracks. They proved to be over-worked and unreliable. Then we heard about American Track Truck and we switched to a Toyota Tacoma / 4Runner on DOMINATOR Tracks.
I had to convince my board of directors that this was a good idea. There were skeptics for sure. We are a small non-profit ski area. We can't afford huge cash outlays with risk. We purchased DOMINATOR tracks and had two pages of criteria that we expected them to meet. They passed nearly every one with flying colors. We even found that the turning radius on a larger vehicle was tighter than the turning radius of the UTVs! With DOMINATOR tracks our vehicles have proven to be excellent for both grooming Nordic trails and as support vehicles for our Alpine ski operations. We can haul snowmaking guns effectively on steep terrain without damaging the ground like the snow-cats often do. We have ordered our second set of tracks and anticipate getting a third set for next year. We plan to rely on Toyotas and DOMINATORS to fulfill our grooming needs! When we send Nordic groomers out to work, I often say, "Don't get stuck or break down because there is nothing else in the area that can save you". Incidentally, we have been called out to assist with search and rescue efforts in our area because our track trucks can get there! DOMINATOR tracks are a game changer for us. Our capabilities are up and our maintenance is down considerably. DOINATOR tracks have actually saved us money! We bolted them on and went to work. That's it. Easy to install and fabulous performance.
